The terrible, no good, very bad day

That's how it goes, right? Either way, I had a gross day yesterday. Nothing too catastrophic (until the very end of the day), but just one of those days where I went to bed ASAP so I  could just start over today. Let's go over it, shall we? Because I think I can laugh at the majority of it now.

It started off pleasantly enough. I met a friend in the town over for a play date. I was excited to venture over there to reminisce. Trey and I used to live in that town and I MISS IS SO SO SO MUCH. I didn't realize just how much until I drove through. I love.
Lake Murray

I'm not quite sure where this is in Lexington, but there are lots of streets like this.. one of which I drove down lots!

Moving on...

Our play date was great. I love seeing Andrew and Julianne's boy playing together and I can't wait for lots more of that action in the near future. We drove home to have lunch and get ready for nap. I love nap time. That's no secret. Andrew usually does too. But for reasons I guess I'll never know, he refused yesterday. He was so tired. He would fall asleep on my shoulder easily enough, but three times I attempted to lay him down and each time and would scream bloody murder. I angrily gave up and brought him down the stairs, letting him know in my meanest mom voice that he was not to move from the couch for 2 hours. (yeah I know.. it was for dramatic effect.) Of course that only lasted 10 minutes tops. It didn't help that my mom was home for lunch and her and my brother were laughing at me as I'm fuming down the stairs. (really they were laughing at something else, but that's not how I perceived it at the time)

Shortly after the failed nap, my brother said he was taking "my" car to get vacuumed and washed. Fishy. But I say, "as long as your back in an hour". He promised that he would, in fact, be home in an hour. Two hours later he texts me saying he'll be home after he gets a haircut. SAY WHHATTTT?? I text and make two phone calls.. all of which he ignores. Why do I need the car so bad, you ask? Oh nothing fun.. I just have to make sure I get to the grocery store to get supplemental stuff for dinners this week AND make sure I start dinner on time AND deal with a no-nap-Andrew. Fun.

I finally get to Walmart. (The car WAS very clean, btw, but I still suspect there were ulterior motives) Load up the buggy (What? I'm in the South again) and make my way to the cashier after Andrew has been screaming "YOGURT" at me over and over... and over again throughout the store, and a woman yells out of nowhere, "FOUR". I look around.. oh there she is.. is she talking to me? Yes she is apparently. She says four again and I gather that she's telling me to go to aisle 4. I double check to make sure I'm at Walmart and not the Commissary and say, "but I have more than 20 items". I'm a stickler for the rules, y'all. That's when she even more rudely snaps at me again, "FOUR".
Daayyummm, Okay Bia. Looking back, I should have gone to aisle 6 just to spite her, but I'm not that quick on my toes. In reality I had to fight back tears. I'm pregnant and hormonal.. leave me alone. All I ask is that you're nice to me. Is that so hard? She could have said please.

Then I stepped in gum in the parking lot as I'm waiting for Andrew to get into his car seat, which he is determined to do "byyourself" every single time he gets in the car now and it takes at least 5 minutes. You're not allowed to help and he's very proud of himself. He could at least figure out how to buckle the damn thing. But the gum... ughhh.. that alone is enough to ruin a day. AmIRight????

I get home. Make sure Andrew is entertained with paper, crayons, cartoons and his cup of "water juice" (it's just water in reality though). I start dinner and within 5 minutes notice that it's entirely too quiet. Quiet is never a good thing with him. It means he's concentrating way too hard on something because no matter what he's doing.. if it's innocent.. he's always making some kind of special effect noise or talking to himself. I walk in the living room and low and behold, what do I see? My sweet boy coloring all over my parents carpet. Lovely. I don't have time to punish, but I do anyways and get back to dinner. Entertain yourself without coloring kid! When my mom got home and asked what he did, he proudly pointed to his "artwork" and told her he drew a V. Nice. Good thing I cleaned it up before Grampy got home.

Then I needed a recipe online and of course the computer died. Had to dig out the charger and move it to the kitchen, reboot, blah blah blah. Not so bad on a normal day, but that ended up being my, "I can't handle one more thing moment".

But of course, there was one more thing. And this one is a doozy. I noticed that my memory card was running out of space. Needed to clear some up to make room for his birthday party on Saturday. Get some CD's to transfer them to and have to start back at January of this year. Cut and paste January, carefully, little bit at a time, double-checking as I go. Everything is good, so I head to February. The computer gets through half of February and freaks out on me. It gives me some kind of error. I'm not sure what it said, but what it meant was, "You just permanently lost two months worth of pictures!!!" That's when the ugly tears started. My pictures are the one thing I'd run into a burning building for. They were all of my baby and OMG he was still a baby with that chubby face and those small hands! Gone. I left it to my computer whiz brother to figure out and went to bed crying. (He could not find them, btw).

So there you have it. It was all compounded, I'm sure, by the fact that I haven't talked to Trey in a week and a half. That doesn't help.
I still don't have my pictures but today is already better than yesterday purely because Andrew is napping. AND.. and.. I'm getting my hair done tonight. Highlights and all.

Warning: This is a long one

This post will be a tad bit scatterbrained as I'm feeling a bit.. well.. scatterbrained. It's just been one of THOSE days. You know one where I've had to collect specimen samples from my child so of course he wouldn't poop. Until the most inopportune moment when he went while I was driving, dug into his diaper and proceeded to smear it all over his body and eat it. YUM. So of course if spread to me.. and the carpet upstairs... and I called my husband crying and letting him know that I would not, after all, be joining him for his Hail and Farewell tonight. Since you know.. the baby has had ONE 15 minute nap at this point, I haven't showered since Tuesday morning and I now have poop in my hair.

There. I feel much better. (and don't worry.. I've showered by now)

On to the real topic of the day. Back to the subject of friends, which, I know, I've touched on many times. But here it is again.

When I moved away from hometown, SC, I already had my tight knit group of friends. I've never had a problem finding people and forcing them to be my friends, but when I moved away,  I never ever suspected I'd be as blessed as I am sitting here now. I had a lot to learn when it came to the ways of the military.

Friendships - real, true, amazing friendships - form very quickly. Of course, you don't have that instant bonding with EVERYONE you meet, but it happens a lot. See, you don't have quite as long as the normal person would to forge a friendship. People come and go and you never know when. You meet someone, you click, and you don't know how long you'll have together.
You need them. You need these people, you need these friendships. You are thrown into a totally foreign (to you) place and only have the people you live with. You need people to bring you up when you are down (because you WILL have your down moments), to grab a cup of coffee or a cocktail with you, to vent to, to laugh with, to tell you that you should absolutely NOT walk out of this house with those jeans on, to have play dates with, to give you some adult conversation, to hold your hand through hard times. The list just goes on and on and on.
You have to have people to depend on. Because, honestly, you can't depend on your significant other 95% of the time. I don't say that with any bitterness at all, so I don't want it to read that way, but it's true. I know Trey would drop everything for us if he could, but I also am fully aware that Army comes first and he didn't make that rule up. He hates it, but it's a fact. We knew that from the beginning. He's either in meetings, in the field, training to deploy, or deployed. So, no, he can't come home out of the field and take care of the baby while you have a stomach bug and can't leave the bathroom. But, you have 5 girlfriends volunteering to take you to the hospital, take the baby for the night, bring you soup, gingerale or crackers.
You need people who understand the things you go through without having to explain anything. I LOVE my friends back home and they know that. But this would be 100% more difficult if I were still back home while Trey did his Army thing. I don't mean to sound like I'm in some secret society or anything, sometimes I feel like that's how I sound, but as much as I've always had friends that were there for me, it's different in this world. Everyone else's lives still go on. Their husbands would be home every night to have dinner with them and relax with. I have some girlfriends who, usually, it works out that their husbands are not coming home on the same nights mine isn't. Instant girls night!! It's great. But we also understand when plans are ditched at the last minute, because, "YAY my husband's coming home".
You need people to not look at you like you are a complete loon if you randomly break out in tears because you miss your mom and dad SO VERY MUCH. And people to step in and take that roll when your real mama can't! (Hi Sue and Maridee).

I've been lucky enough to meet a great group of girls like that.  I really do count my blessings. I've also been lucky to not have to say, "See you later" to any of them.. until now. I've only known Melissa IRL for a few short months.. just for the summer. But now she is gone and let me tell you.. I felt that goodbye like I was losing a friend I've had my whole life. We bonded.. and we bonded very quickly. The two of us, plus Jaci, had the best time together over the summer. Now she's headed back to law school and (not to sound too dramatic.. it's just the truth) I've felt like I've had this little hole in my heart for the past few days. I will always miss her in my life (until we're stationed in the same area again), but I do realize how lucky I am to have met such an awesome person.. someone who I will always consider a great friend.

Nancy and I had a great conversation about this lately, plus Trey and I were laying in bed the other night, talking about all of these people that have come into our lives. It's crazy when you really think about it.  What if we never left hometown, SC? How can it just be a random thing that our paths crossed with the people that it has. Two years ago I would have never imagined this. That I'd have these wonderful friends that are more like family. That I'd open myself up to and have true friendships with people from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Wyoming of all places (sorry.. but not many people know someone from Wyoming).. all over the country.

Of course I do miss back home. But I'm thankful for all this. I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had to broaden my horizons. To meet and become close to the people that I have. Without this crazy, sometimes inconvenient, life that we live now, I would never have known this was out here.

I'll say it again at the risk of pooping out butterflies... I'm truly truly blessed!

On somewhat of the same note, this has been weighing heavily on my heart lately, so I thought I'd share and ask for prayers. I know of so many girls right now that have either just said "see you later" to their husbands for a deployment or who will be VERY very soon. It's the first time that I've been so close to people that are going through it and seeing it happen the whole way out. (hearing they'll be leaving, watching them get ready, counting down the days, etc.) and it's heartbreaking, but also makes me very proud to know them at the same time. It's going to be a hard year for some of my dear friends.. please keep them in your prayers and I promise to do the same!

May 31, 2011

It all started as a normal day..

complete with a walk in the park with a friend (3 miles.. go us), a few naps (for Drew, not me, pinky promise), lunch, and playing with toys.

It ended with a court date in my near(?) future. Let me back up..

Right after Drew's second nap (around 3pm) we're sitting on the living room floor, goofing around when I hear a bunch of ruckus out by the side of our house. I look out the window and there are two HUMONGOUS dogs that seemed to have gotten my neighbors gate open. I freaked a little because they have an older basset hound that I kind of consider like 1/18th mine. He's always outside and barks to let me know when someone is coming. Sometimes annoying, but always comforting. Anywhoo..

The two dogs were terrifyingly big, have I mentioned that? They are running away, but houndy is now out. I don't have the neighbors number and I sure wasn't going out and risking my life with those two beasts running around. I called the police and when finishing up with them, manned up a bit and went out to make sure the hound was okay. I canceled the police call because I saw the owner of said beasts grabbing the dogs from the yard across the street and herding them into the back of his pickup. They drive away and I think all is good. Until...

Neighbors are outside. Wifey is by the front door and assured me the hound was now in the house. Hubs is across the street in above mentioned yard. I asked her if she saw the beasts, yes she had, she says... and did I know that.. grab a tissue... they KILLED the little pup across the street!!! Mauled it to death. My heart still breaks.

We saw the house that the owners of the two dogs lived at.. we see the guy tell his lady about the sitch, she freaks, and walks down to us. She's all worked up until she learns what dog it is that was killed by her dogs. Then says "she doesn't f'ing care" and "she has told that woman to keep her dog inside two times". REALLY?? The poor pup was in it's own yard. And it doesn't matter how annoying the little pup was that roamed the streets. You're dogs violently killed it. That's someones dog. Take responsibility and show some heart. The family wasn't home. They have kids of all ages. They are going to come home to that.

She struts back home. And this is where it gets hard for me. We discussed what to do and it didn't take long to know we had to call Animal Control. That could have easily been any number of the little kids that play outside all day. Andrew and I sit in the driveway quite often (He has a big obsession with cars and it keeps him entertained. With a yard full of rocks.. the driveway is the spot to be).

I had to run to the store and told the neighbors to come right over if they needed anyone else to talk to Animal Control. When I get home, the dead dog neighbors and the ones next to us are all outside. I head over and those kids had just found the dog. Next door neighbs tried to talk to the mom before the kids had seen it, but it was too late. The kids were bawling. It was heartbreaking. The mom walked down to the killing dogs house and chicky completely denies she even has dogs! Can you believe it??

Animal Control guys shows up and after not too long, one of the girls knocks on my door and asks if I'll go and talk to him. Since home girl denies everything (not sure how she thinks she'll get away with that.. the poor fam got pics of the dogs through her window) they are going to need witnesses to testify in court. I couldn't tell that family that I wouldn't do it.. I'm glad to help them.

It's just a sucky situation though. I know it's going to mean putting those dogs down. I know they were vicious. I know they did very wrong. But I still can't help but feel a little bad about helping to put them down. I even feel bad for that stank woman who's going to get her dogs taken away. But when it comes down to it.. I know it has to be done. Unfortunately they got out. What if it happened again? And what if next time it's not "just" a dog that caught their viciousness? They were getting into people's fenced backyards. That's scary.

So.. yeah... blahhhh

U-S-C.... Gooo Cocks!

And we're here. The big game we prepare for all season. The only one that really matters. Our big top dawg rivalry. The Carolina-Clemson game!

Yes.. maybe, just maybe, Clemson is way ahead of us in the history of this rivalry. Like sadly so. 65-37 Clemson if you want to get technical. So what if we've lost our last three games and Clemson's kinda been kicking ass. If you know anything about us Carolina fans, you know we are the most hopeful creatures on earth. So this is where I will be all morning until mid-afternoon. Posted up in front of the TV, cheering on my Cocks with all of my entire heart, hoping for a game day miracle.

On a separate note, our Thanksgiving was okay. Just okay though and that's my fault. Dinner was great. Trey said it was the best Thanksgiving dinner he's ever had (lying to flatter me is completely okay in my book). I was just very, very emotional. I know it was just the fact that it was a big holiday, but I was extremely homesick for the first time since I've gotten out here. I cried for the majority of the day. From anything from a Folgers commercial I saw during the parade, from seeing Santa at the end of the parade (WTH???), to bigger more important things. I felt horrible for Trey. I feel like I pretty much ruined his day, especially towards the end of it. I took some NyQuil to go ahead and put an end to both of our misery, woke up and put my big girl panties on. Said a quick prayer, made a mental note of all of my blessings, and plastered a smile on my face. Yeah, it was a fake smile at first, but within a couple of hours my sour mood was lifted. I half-heartedly put Christmas decorations up, but thoroughly enjoyed them once it was dark. Celebrated a close call Alabama win with Trey. Got dressed up and had a much needed night out with friends (dinner and Orange Tree!), came home and laughed for two hours straight together while watching Christmas Vacation! I leave you today with some of my favorite Aunt Bethany quotes:
"Is your house on fire, Clark?"
" No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights"

Ellen: Oh Aunt Bethany, you shouldn't have done that.
Aunt Bethany: Oh dear, did I break wind?
Uncle Lewis: Jesus, did the room clear out, Bethany? Hell no, she means presents. You shouldn't have brought presents.

"Grace? She passed away 30 years ago"

"Is this the airport Clark?"

Aunt Bethany: What's that sound? You hear it? It's a funny squeaky sound.
Uncle Lewis: You couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant.

Tragic Day

My heart is broken over today's events at Ft. Hood. I am thinking constantly and praying about everyone there. How it must have felt to be on lock down. How families were/are grieving when they found out their loved one was one of the 12 dead or 31 injured. It literally makes my stomach turn to think about those soldiers who were either coming home from a deployment or getting ready to leave for one, but yet died at the hand of a fellow soldier. It's just about the most unnatural thing I can think of. These men have put their lives on the line in a foreign country, most more than once, and were breathing sighs of relief to be home and safe. It's just sickening. Being part of this community, I can say that being on post makes you feel safe. A lot of families chose to live on post, knowing that a possibility of a deployment will arise and being behind those gates surrounded by other soldiers and their families, just makes you feel much more secure. He took that away from us today.
I have to say that I'm glad he is alive. Everyone wants answers from him and I'm glad he's around to face the consequences of his horrible acts. I'm glad he wasn't able to take the cowardly way out.

Hardest Decision EVER

Ugghhhh... I have been a crying fool for the past 3 days. I have prayed and prayed about this decision and the answer to that prayer literally came knocking on my door tonight.

My neighbors have been taking care of Daisy while I'm at work. The mom and daughter, Catherine. Catherine is about 13. The mom was at my door and came in for a bit. she wanted to be sure that I was really okay with the fact that they sometimes brought Dais over they're house to play with their dog Roscoe. I told her it was more than okay and it in fact made me feel much better about leaving in the morning. She proceeded to tell me how ever since their small dog, Scout, passed away Roscoe has been so depressed. Every since Daisy has been coming around it's just lifted Roscoe's spirits up. I guess he is really gentle with her and they are great together. Scout was her son's dog so she also told her that having Daisy around has made her mind up that she wants to buy her son another small dog. At this point the tears starting flowing from my eyes.

You see, I've been struggling for the past three days over whether or not I made the right decision with getting Daisy. I truly love her with my entire heart and this is extremely heart breaking for me, but I really don't think my timing was very good. The days of my paychecks coming in are dwindling. Our house still hasn't sold. When we move, we are going to be good to feed ourselves. I've had one emergency after the other which has dwindled our emergency fund to almost zilch. I'm so stressed out over that. Little dog expenses add up. Between the vet visits and constant grooming, and paying for a house we won't be living in, I was really starting to worry. I also received news today that my grandmother took another turn for the worse. She's back in the hospital and called the Priest in to be with her today. That got me thinking about the costs of flying places and boarding her to do so. And to be honest, I didn't realize how much time she would take up, so there are some selfish reasons in there as well that I was doubting this. I'm seriously late on paying a couple bills because I don't know how to half ass anything. I feel so bad for leaving her all day, that by the time I get home I feel like she has to have 100% of my attention all night long.

So I've cried and cried and prayed and prayed and the answer to that prayer came to me I believe. It's going to be the hardest thing I've every had to do, but I've decided to hand her over to my neighbor. They love her so so much. They have the experience to raise her and train her right. There will be people home with her all day. As much as I will be in despair for who knows how long missing her, I know she will be going to a great home. Can't ask for much more than that. My head knows that, but my heart is pitching a fit right now!

Glistening?

Screw it ~ I'm sweating like a banchie. And I've honestly spent the whole night sobbing tearing up over it. I feel like this little thing called life is seriously ganging up on me. If you're in no mood for a pity party, the exit is to your upper right hand corner ;)

I woke up this morning with the vague feeling that I was a little more toasty than usual during the night. While straightening my hair and panting from heat exhaustion, I knew the worst had happened. My AC went out. Again. Got to work and called my little AC man and he said he'd be out to look at it late afternoon. I'm pretty sure I hit my breaking point tonight after getting home and realizing when I walked into the safari jungle that he never did make it out. And all I kept hearing in my head was him making the calculated guess that I'd probably have to replace it since it's so old. Really? We can't rig it for a bit and let it be someone else's problem? I joke. Kinda. Who has money sitting around to install a new AC??? Not I! I should though. Which brought on a whole new set of sobs. Trey's been gone since February. My main responsibilities were paying bills and building our savings up. I tried. I really did. But I swear it's just been one thing or another that has made me spend money in our savings right after I built it up. Every.Time. Add on the pressure of getting Daisy (I know.. my choice and I have no regrets), hoping and praying we sell our house and that we actually make money off of it, moving... Ahhhhh... I've been able to keep a pretty cool head.. but tonight it felt like the world was crashing on my shoulders and I could hardly stand to keep breathing.

I am a little more calm now though. Calm, not cool. It's still sweltering hot. For two reasons:

1. my realtor called to let me know she is showing my house to someone tomorrow that seams interested in renting it. Scary, but I'm a little bit okay with making some extra money every month.
2. AC man just called. Gotta love an AC man that calls at 9:45 at night to let you know how sorry he is and that he'll be there at 7:30. I'll love him even more if he doesn't make me buy a whole new unit.

Thank you so so so much for all of your comments on my last post. Y'all are seriously my backbone. I hope that's not very pathetic of me to say. Because it's true :) I'd probably be certifiably insane without y'all.
Trey is doing better. They did send him to HHC today but his spirits are way up. He read parts in the book of Job last night in the Bible... seriously?

P.S.
That's only a little something I've been praying for for years. We'll save that for another post though.

I'm gone until Monday!! Off to visit the fam in Massachusetts. Hopefully i'll be able to squash some of these worries of mine while i'm up there, but knowing me, doubtful. I know i'm usually very optimistic and to my defense a little PMS may or may not have something to do with this mental breakdown. We're all entitled to a few though right??

Ohhhhhh how could I forget??? One of my favorite bloggie buddies, Crazy Shenanigans, gave me this sweet sweet award today:

It made me smile through all those tears!! Thanks girl!

When Life Hands You Lemons...

Well you know how the rest goes.

Trey and I came across a major setback yesterday. The thought never even occurred to us that this could happen, but it did. They all turned in their weapons Friday afternoon. Most of the guys went out partying all weekend. Trey didn't. He wanted to be in top shape come Monday morning for his final PT test. The last thing he had to do in order to graduate from OCS. I got a text from him late Monday morning that just said "i need to talk to you". My heart immediately sank, but I was still hopeful. I mean really... he's had no trouble this whole time... what could have really gone wrong? Turns out he blew the running out of the water, did great in push ups, and for some reason or another, just barely missed his sit ups. He had to pack up all his stuff and get ready to go back to HHC (where they're held at the beginning or if you fail something at any point during the course). He'll be held there for another couple of weeks. He doesn't get to graduate with the guys he's gone through everything with. Instead he'll graduate with another company where he knows no one.

Can you imagine how he feels right now? It's getting better, but let me tell you, yesterday was not a good day. I don't think I've ever seen him at such a low point. Just humiliated, embarrassed, sad, disappointed.. the list goes on. I know he was dreading making that phone call to me, never mind his parents. We talked a lot yesterday and today and I've been trying real hard to pick his spirits up. I think it's working. I kept trying to tell him that every single thing happens for a reason. We may never ever know what that reason is, but we just have to trust that God has a better plan for us. When you're that disappointed though, that doesn't really mean anything to you in the moment. It is starting to sink with him. He's trying to accept it.

So yes, would I have LOVED to leave Monday to start graduation festivities?? Heck yes. But I'll enjoy it even more so in a couple weeks. Would I have been BEYOND excited to be driving HOME with him on Thursday and go together to pick Daisy up?? Ummm yeah. But instead, I'll pick Daisy up a few days earlier and take her with me to go spend next weekend with him. There HAS to be a reason for this. I have complete faith in that. Maybe I would have gotten in a car accident on the way down Monday because I was just so exhausted from my trip to Boston. Maybe we're not financially ready to move to Oklahoma while still making mortgage payments so our move had to be delayed for another month. All I know is in the end, not much has changed:

He'll retake that PT test and blow them out of the water (bc he WILL be doing 1000 sit ups every night while stuck in HHC ;) ).
He'll still graduate and get to where he wants to go.
I still think my husband is a kick ass, sexy Army Man.

I still think the world of him. I still adore him. <3

The End.

A Little of This and a Little of That

It's officially Memorial Day weekend.. woohhooooo!!

Just taking it easy tonight. Doing a little laundry, packing, and catching up on the DVR. I have a week's worth of catching up to do. What am I packing for you ask?? No, not to go see hubs. I'm leaving in the morning for Charleston with a couple girls and I CANNOT WAIT. Will be back Monday morning with a few stories to share I'm sure and maybe some pics.

My day was going really good today ~ that is until I locked my keys in my car. Uh huh. On my lunch break. Went to get my eyebrows waxed. Threw my keys in my purse. Thought to myself "oh I don't need my purse, I'll just run in with my wallet". Put purse in the passenger seat, lock the doors, slam door shut and immediately say a bad four letter word. Grrrrr!
Luckily, a girl at work reminded me that I have USAA and I could call them and have them send someone out for free. But it did turn my hour lunch break into a 2 and 1/2 hour lunch break.. and not for any fun reasons!

Trey seems to be doing pretty well. We do get to talk a little bit each day so that's a relief. He has from 9-10 to shower, shave, and get ready for lights out so we find about 15 minutes to talk in the midst of all that.. which is better than nothing!! So far he's passing the things he needs to pass so we're off to a good start. For the most part his mood seems to be pretty positive :)

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. Happy Memorial Day!!

Back to Basic

Or it feels like it anyways!
Trey and all the guys he's with got placed in thier actual platoons today. Which means they are actually starting stuff this week. I know he is thankful for that as he was quite bored last week! So while I'm glad for him, I am a little down because this also means this is the start of him being a busy soldier for the next couple of months. I haven't heard that voice all day as of 8:20 tonight. I miss it! Yes, I take back my "hating the phone" complaints!
He did text me earlier today to let me know that we need to talk about this upcoming weekend. He will not be getting on off-post past like we originally thought, but will have about 8 hours of free time during the days. I'm been struggling with the decision on whether or not to go all day, but I think I've decided to make a go for it. Any thoughts?? I'm sure I can manage to find things to do when he is away right? I think it will be worth it.. but opinions are definitely welcome!
I hope everyone had a great Monday (as great as Mondays go anyway)

Here are some reasons my day sucked:
Close to NO sleep last night. (just could not fall and stay asleep)
Felt like I got NOTHING done at work today no matter how focused I tried to be
Not hearing from Trey
Not making it to the gym because of pure exhaustion
And I JUST NOW spilled an entire glass of bright red tropical punch KoolAid (sugar free of course) on the cream colored carpet

And here are some things that made it not COMPLETELY suck:
Knowing that i have someone to miss as much as I do
Finding a new little surcie for myself at the grocery store ~ Weight Watcher Candy Bar Ice Creams. It's kind of like the Snickers IceCream bars which I happen to LOVE.
Having a bowl of Apple Jacks for dinner.

Here's to a better day tomorrow :)

Update:
Trey just called only to inform me that he doesn't know when he'll be able to call me again. And I shouldn't go down this weekend bc although he technically will have free time, he'll have to be back at all hours of the day for anything from formation to detail... blah. It will all be worth it in the end <3
