Friday Randomness
Remember earlier in the week where I talked about still not being seen on a weekly basis or even having an internal exam? I almost gave up after leaving numerous messages for my nurse and calling straight to L&D to see if my nurse was just confused. L&D told me it was normal - I'm not seeing someone regularly or having the internal because I'm part of the Centering group (which I will never do again) and more and more they don't like to do internals since it could cause early labor and there's no real benefit to know if I've started to dialate. I get that.. I really do. But... 1: I'm kind of okay with going into labor at any point now. 2: They clearly don't know me very well. I like to be prepared. So when my nurse FINALLY called me back yesterday (4 day turnaround? Not very acceptable) and said I could come in Monday morning for sick call and ask for a certain nurse and will be given an exam.. I've decided to jump on that I think. I just need to know what's going on.
I finally got around to getting a breast pump. It came with an instructional DVD and we watched it the other night. Ha.. freaky! That'll take some getting used to! The most beneficial thing I got out of the DVD was the "words of encouragement" section. I'm more determined that this IS GOING TO WORK now more than ever. I really want to be able to breastfeed and if it comes down to calling a lactation consultant to help, than I will.. but one way or another.. it's going to happen. Take that Andrew ;)
I'm so glad it's the weekend. Friday nights are my favorite. Trey comes home fairly early (most of the time) and we have the whole weekend ahead of us. No work. No meetings. Just hanging out together. We have a goodbye party to go to tonight for some friends that are leaving to go to Colorado. Tomorrow we'll get some work done on our cars -no fun- and buy just two more things I need for the babe. Other than that, we have no real plans!
Jaci over at Me and My SoldierMan is having an awesomely exciting (you like that Jaci?) Scentsy giveaway, so go on over and check that out! I didn't want to mention it, because I want to win it very badly, but she needs at least 30 bloggers to sign up, so what are you waiting for? Annnd.. she found out yesterday that as soon as her hubby is done with BOLC and Ranger school that they are heading here to Fort Bliss! So excited to be reunited with her :) We met when Trey and I were stationed at Ft. Sill and they were still living in Oklahoma!
Can you imagine how distraught I was when I tried to tune in to the FINALE of SYTYCD last night and the Dallas Cowboys were playing instead??? Really? How do you just cancel a show like that? I know everyone else in the country got to watch it. Why play with my emotions like that? And just so they could play the freaking Raiders of all teams?? I know Lauren won and that made my heart happy, but so much that I missed! All the best performances of the season... reactions to winning and losing... guests on the show that Cat Dealy promised me I wouldn't want to miss. Grrrrr! It made me feel a lot better to see that Dallas lost.. to the RAIDERS. Sorry if I've upset any fans. Love ya.. mean it.
I'm sorry for the most boring post ever. Carry on.

Dance
Is it possible for your life's passion to be something you are not even capable of doing yourself??
Can you tell where this is headed? I post about this every time it comes back on, as if I haven't explained enough how much I love it. Yes, another season of So You Think You Can Dance has started and I am in love all over again.
As I sit here watching the dancers perform in their own genre tonight, my heart explodes with happiness and some performances even bring me to tears. I can't get enough of all the Contemporary, Jazz, and hip hop numbers and the choreographers, in my opinion, are shear geniuses. Travis Wall, Mia Michaels, Napoleon and Tabitha, Lil C, Mandy Moore, and Tyce Diorio... I love your crazy sick dancing selves.
Now if I only had their talent. Instead I live vicariously through them all.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers! We still don't know much more information. They are slowly bringing his temperature back up and as soon as they do, they will bring him in for a cat scan. We should know something tomorrow morning. I'm staying positive!

The day before the day before we leave
Trey's CO's are holding fast to the plan that we can't sign out until midnight Friday night. Seriously? You're really going to dismiss him around 2 and then we just have to sit around and look at each other for 10 more hours??? That's precious driving time. I'm still holding out hope that they get a touch of the Christmas spirit and let us leave early. Just in case though, we are staying up as late as our eyes will let us Thursday night and I will sleep as far into the day as possible on Friday. Trey will still have to get up at 5 for PT, but that's good for him. That way he'll come home and if we can't leave, he'll sleep until later in the night. Maybe I'll make some coffee around 9:30 - yes, pm - and maybe we can eat at IHOP before signing out.
Grrrrr while reading over my shoulder, hubs informed me that we absolutely are not leaving before midnight, so operation stay up as late as possible and sleep all day Friday is on. I might as well make the best of the situation - it'll be fun trying to stay up tomorrow night. Pizza and movies it is. Wish. us. luck.
edited to add: my bad! I forgot a little piece of vital information regarding our trip. Hubs leave doesn't actually start until Saturday, hense the reason we can't leave until 12:01. Teehee..
Army 1, Jessica 0
Sorry to bore you with all that, but don't you feel better knowing my sleep schedule for the rest of the week? I may post one more time before we leave, but after that, I'll be on a holiday hiatus we'll call it. I'll be back after the new year with lots more talk and pictures of our trip home. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones!! And if you have a spouse that is deployed during the holidays this year, I hope you are spending it with many friends and other family. Thank you so much for your sacrifices!!
Ohhhh yeah!!! How 'bout that SYTYCD finale??? I am more than in love with Russell. My feelings would not be hurt at all if either him or Katherine win! He has come so far, excels at every single style he attempts, and I just love his personality and heart out there. The only way I will be extremely ticked off is if Ryan or Ashleigh win. Ash isn't that bad, but I really don't see how or why Ryan is still on the show. And the whole "we're so much in love that we cry when we're together and can't stop hugging and kissing in front of the camera thing"? PLEASE don't tell me anyone is dumb enough to fall for that. THEY KNOW IT WILL GET THEM VOTES!!
End Rant. Seriously, each and every one of those dances warmed my heart to no end. My favorites were: Kathryn and Jakob's contemporary ( I admittedly shed a tear or two on that one.. beautiful.. but can't find it on YouTube), Kathryn and Ryan's Samba (she made it.. not him), Russell and Eleanore's Paso Doble, and Russell and Kathryn's hip hop. Now you know I have to show as many videos as possible because I want so badly for you all to be just as enamored as I am :) Aren't you all glad I learned how to post videos??
That hot little Samba I told you about:
Russell and Ashleigh's Lyrical Jazz. He is so so great in this one:
So many other great ones, but those are all I could find... for now.. muaahhahahaha

Hot Tamale Train
Ashleigh and Jakob's Lyrical Jazz routine:
Kathryn and Legacy's Jazz routine (I have to say.. these two are quickly becoming my favorite):
My absolute favorite of the night.. Noelle and Russell's contemporary! So So So beautiful! Russell is another one of my favorites. For those of you who don't watch this show and have gotten this far in my post about something you're not particularly interested (I love you for that by the way), Russell and Legacy (the one above) have NO actual training. Russell used to do hip hop dancing in tha streets... Legacy was a beat boy. They have been so AH-MAZING that they bring tears to my eyes!
I also though Mollee and Nathan's Can-Can dance was adorable and like the judges said - perfect for their cute little selves!
I'm not very sad to see Karen go... I can do without her, but I am VERRRY happy to see Victor go. Just was not a fan.
I hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving. We have had our turkey and Trey is passed out on the couch as a result!

'Tis the time of the month
example #1
I was trained on the phones today at the food bank. I loved doing that, but did hear one story that just broke my heart. I don't want to get into the full story, but it was a mother who was trying her best just to be the mom we all want and expect to be. While telling me her story I could hear her voice start to crack as she fought the tears, but she lost all control as the flood gates opened. It was all could do not to sit there and cry with her.
example #2
I called my mom afterwards wanting to talk about it, but she couldn't talk at the moment. That is all. I still didn't cry at that moment but was pathetically pretty dern close. *don't feel bad mum. you clearly did nothing to bring that on... i blame it on my insanity* But she did call back 5 minutes later so all was good until....
example #3
I got home and watched the coverage on the Ft. Hood memorial. OH.My.God. I don't remember the last time I cried so hard. Between the last roll call and hearing the silence after every other soldier's name was called, hearing Taps being played, and seeing the families barely able to walk through their grief as they said their goodbyes... i couldn't contain myself. I just pray and pray for them.. that they are comforted as much as possible.
There have been other little things, but I already can't remember what they are. I'm sure they were very silly reasons. Off to go enjoy one of those Betty Crocker Warm Delight things. The chocolate fudge cookie one. With Vanilla Ice Cream on top. Full fledged fatty girl version of everything. Mmmhmmmm... judge me. I don't care.
Update:
I also cried when I tried bring all 10000 bags of groceries in by myself and one of the bags split.. the jar of spaghetti sauce crashes below and all of a sudden there's broken glass everywhere (I totally just rapped that like P.Diddy) and sauce splattered all over me.
The End.

My favorite show
My favorite dance - by far - of the night was Kathryn and Legacy's contemporary dance.. one of my favorite styles. This one was about her conquering her fear (him portraying the fear). It reminded me a lot of Mia Michaels' dance from last year about addiction. Here's the link. It's worth your time, promise. *I still haven't figured out how to embed videos. It never works for me*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31Hqa9YJAmQ
My 2nd favorite would have to be Karen and Kevin's hip hop routine. It was pretty sick if I do say so myself. They were even put on the hot tamale train for it.. wooot wooooooot!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED88F7jD5gw
Molly and Nathan did a great job with the Bollywood.. that is quickly becoming a favorite also. I can't find a video for this one, so you are spared.
They are all so good this season, it's going to be heartbreaking to see a lot of them go. I was pretty pleased with the results last night though. If only the Phillies would hurry up and end baseball season, in their favor of course so we can get back to two shows a week... that would be lovely!

Finally Satisfied
This is just a short little post today. I'm at my in-laws dog sitting for the night. They have two huge chocolate labs that constantly act like their are on the verge of being starved to death. I'm much more the little 5 lb Daisy type.
I almost forgot. My favorite dance from last night. Grab some tissues.

I still can't figure out how to embed the video.. sorry charlie

So I Wish I Could Dance
when asked if she's had any formal training with her dancing:
"if you mean formal training as in training formally, I would say uh.. I mean.. I'll answer it this way. Everything I've learned, I've learned from the streets. And by the streets I mean my gated community and it was just one street. It was an area.. there were very few children. It was just myself actually. And there was a man down the street, Eduardo. And he and I would not necessarily dance but anyway.. umm.. so I guess no, I've not. " HA!!
"are you two carpenters, because you nailed it!"
"I really don't know what to say. I just wanted to come see a taping, these were really good seats. I didn't know I'd be judging. So I don't know what to say other than I'd like to invite both of you over to the house later. I have some pictures that need to be hung and your both good nailerrrs"
"the problem with this town is that every one's face starts looking the same.. you know.. the same doctor"
"all I can say is, you two keep dancing like that and you'll have your own talk show some day"
I have so many favorites right now that I really can't pick one. I love Janette, Jeanine, Ade, Melissa, Kayla, and Brandon. I really can't chose. Favorite dance by far for the night though was Melissa and Ade's contemporary piece depicting a couple dealing with breast cancer. It was SO emotional. There were tears coming from everyone just about. I couldn't find a video yet, but I'll work on that!
G-ma update:
They aren't going to find out how far along the cancer is. She'll start a low dose of chemo this week. By Monday at the latest they expect her to be in a nursing home for some recouping time. The positive side, she hasn't lost her sense of humor from what my mom says :) I tried to call her tonight but didn't get an answer.. will try again tomorrow!

huh??
I'm sure every one's heard the news about Gov. Sanford as well. Another wonderful tidbit to make us all look so good here in SC. I hate that what he did and what his family is going through has to be such a public issue. Don't get me wrong, what he did was completely wrong and hurtful, but do we really need to be in the center of it? Yes, he's a public figure... i get that. But this is a very private issue. Something that needs to be worked out between him and his wife. And don't get me started on that. I've heard such ugly comments about her today. Some people are in uproars because she is *as of right now* choosing to stay with him and try to forgive him. I don't think anyone really knows what they would do in that situation. It's so easy to say that you'd leave immediately. And if *God forbid* you've ever had to make that decision or if you ever do, and you do leave, that's your decision. Every marriage is different and what might be right for one person, may not be right for another. Does that mean we should judge her, calling her weak or stupid or worse? Frankly it's none of our business and I think it's sick that everyone thrives off of other people's misery. Seriously, his private emails were leaked all over the internet. I can't imagine how all this is making his wife and kids feel. Good thing the kids are on summer vacay.. imagine going to school after that!
Moovvvvinggggg right along ~
My parents are in San Antonio safe and sound... but they have melted away today. I think it was a little too hot for them. Which blows my mind seeing as how it's pretty damn hot here today. Like take your breath away hot. They said Charlie looks good, even though he's lost a good bit of weight and they should be sending me some pics tonight.

Yellow Yellow Yellow

Random text I got during the day. I thought I had another one, but that came directly to my work email. They show up everywhere. It's insane. Start playing, you'll see what I mean.
Wow.. this seriously must seem like the most pointless post ever. It probably is.
But don't sweat ~ I almost forgot to give my opinions on SYTYCD. All I can say is this is my favorite show ever. I wish I could say that I missed my calling and should be dancing my life away... but trust me... I'm better off watching it than living it.
My favs: Phillip and Jeanine definitely. They were first and did a hip-hop routine which I LOVE. I love even more when they put a story to it. They did AMAZING. It seriously made my heart almost jump out of my chest. Another favorite: Caitlin and Jason. They did a style called Bollywood (which I'm not quite sure what it is.. but I love it) to a song from Slumdog Millionaire and it may have made me squeal out loud blew me away. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Kayla and max. Did a Samba routine. Sexxaaayyyy! They danced beautifully and made that Samba look H-O-T. Woooohoooo!
Other standout moments: Randi and Even doing the jazz routine. Melissa and Ade doing the contemporary which was about the moment you first fall in love. I think this is going to be a great season... there aren't many people I actually WANT to see go!
Here is one of my favorite routines ever ~ from last season: ( i tried to put the video on here, but I clearly need a lesson) Here's the link for the truly curious

It's worth it ~ Promise.

A Perfect Night and Free Samples
- I got home early (unheard of). Meaning I didn't go to the gym or work late.
- It's storming out pretty good right now. Have I ever mentioned how much I love thunderstorms?? *as long as I'm in the comfort of my house* It's pouring and the thunder is cracking.
- I have all the lights turned out, candles going, and the blinds on the window next to me open so I can see all the action.
- SYTYCD is on tonight!! The first night of the actual competition and not auditions so I'm really pumped over this. I'll be sure to let y'all know tomorrow who my faves are!
Now if only hubs could be cuddled up on the couch with me :)
I've gotten the strangest things in the mail for the past two days. Today I came home to a free energy efficient light bulb in the mailbox. But wait for it... the best part? It comes in a container that you can reuse as a piggy bank! Score!! Even more strange? Yesterday I was lucky enough to receive a free pad in the mail. Like as in a maxi pad. No thanks guys, I don't think I've used one of those since I was 15. But I really do appreciate the thought.

Few Random Tidbits
Second.. I had a pretty kick ass workout today at the gym! Man, it really helps when you take someone with you! I did a mile and 1/2 on the elliptical. A mile on the treadmill. Leg machines, arm machines, and free weights to work on the ever-so-flabby obliques. I feel GREAT! I've put any running goals I had on the back burner. I wasn't so much enjoying it to be honest. What I LOVE though is the elliptical. We get along great and my short little legs are starting to say "thank you" when I look in the mirror. Your welcome babies.
Third and lastly... I'm watching my favorite show tonight and I'm so excited that it's this time of year for it. Is anyone else in love with So You Think You Can Dance??? (from now on referred to as SYTYCD so I don't have to type that all out) I'm pretty obsessive with this show. I thoroughly enjoy watching people dance and really really wish I had the talent myself. My favorites are the Contemporary and the Hip-Hop styles. The way they can make their bodies move... it blows my mind.. beautiful! I like it all though ~ can't wait until they actually start competing each week.
That's all for now. Happy hump day :)
*after thought: Thank God for spell check*
