Most importantly, I'm really late in giving the final update on my dad. Let's just say.. he took the really scary and expensive route of getting a check-up. They did the catheter and found no damage or blockage. After that.. they didn't really know what to do with him and released him. He went to his long time, trusted family doctor on Tuesday and was told that the first diagnosis (before all of this heart crap) was correct. Vertigo. While we are EXTREMELY thankful that his heart is in tiptop shape, that was a little much!
I just saw that someone was led to my blog by searching for "13 weeks pregnant fat belly at bottom". Really? Awesome. Way to remind me that my belly is stretched beyond recognition and jiggles like a bowl full of jelly. I hope you found what you were looking for.
My husband and I celebrated our 4th anniversary this week :)
He spoiled me like never before. Thanks to him I will be enjoying a 4.5 hour day at the spa next week and sporting a new Welker jersey come football season. He also took a week of leave from work. We also dropped Drew off with a trusted couple we are great friends with here last night and had an adult dinner that did not include a highchair, baby food, picking toys up off the floor or diaper changes. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to drive with the windows down. Went to Starbucks then enjoyed a movie. At the movie theater. I can't tell you the last time I've been to a movie theater. It was an amazing night spent with my best friend. While we both did talk about that sweet boy of ours from time to time and it was wonderful to have a night just to ourselves (first one in 9 months that didn't have anything to do with work), we wouldn't trade him in for the world. One night was nice. We like having him around too much to do more than that :)
Remember to come back Monday morning for our Weight Watchers post. The topic this week will be, what motivates you? It can be anything and I can wait to hear from everybody!

Day 4: My Parents
Where do I even begin? I betcha my mum is nervous wondering what on earth I'm going to write about her.. teehee
My parents are two of my favorite people on the face of this earth. They met young.. my mum was still a teenager. I came into their lives when they were still young. They defied the odds and raised me in a loving (although slightly psychotic) home and added my two brothers into the mix.
They don't take life overly seriously..not as in they are irresponsible parents.. we just always had/have fun. (besides those few short years where I was rotten to them). We laugh. A lot. My dad is hilarious. One thing I think of that always makes me laugh is one year when he decided to tell his entire side of the family (including my grandmother) that Trey and I were having a baby and had to have a quick courthouse wedding. My grandmother cried. He let it go on the entire day. It was an April's Fools joke that he forgot he made in the first place. I found out by getting an excited/shocked email from my cousin.
My mum has a heart made out of gold. She wants to fix the world's and everyone in its (I don't think that's grammatically correct and it's driving me crazy, but I just have to let it go and move on) problems. She's very much a mother hen. We all go to her for a shoulder to cry on or to have someone just listen to our problems, and as much as I appreciate it/her, I hate it at the same time. She will take your problem in and it will then be her own. She will feel your pain just as much as you do.
There is so much more to them, but we'd be here all day.
Both of them - transplanted northerners living in the south due to my dad's company.
Dad - sarcastic, smartass, funny-man, Redsox and Patriots watching, beer and Waffle House lover, nothing-is-too-hot-for-my-taste-buds man, who thinks Bose is the greatest speaker system in the entire universe.
Mum - kind, too kind, fabulous cooker, silly, wine and book lover, would live on her back deck if she could, will probably one day live on the beach, flip flop wearing, just sayin' sayer, who loves her family more than anything.

This is nuts!
First let me say that I really appreciate everyone who commented on my last post. It meant a lot to me that you stopped and took the time to give me your opinion. I hope it was clear that I don't think any decision regarding deployments are wrong! I was just sharing what my decision will be since it was asked of me so much lately. Moving on...
... to a an email my lovely father forwarded to me today. Mmmhmmm.. enjoy. WARNING: at times I didn't know whether to throw up or continue laughing. The lady at minute 2 really does it for me!

Guess Who's Back
I'm back! and really I was only 1/2 gone ~ so maybe I have an obsession ~ so what?
I had a fun weekend with my fam. It's a good thing they're gone for now though, as I consume way more alcohol and spend too much money with them around. Having a good time is never an issue when we get together. This time it was just 2 of them down. Imagine when all 100 of us get together. fun turns into trouble ;) the goodbye's weren't as bad this time. We're going up there at the end of July for a little family reunion type thing (yeah.. trouble...) and they'll turn right around and come back down here to move Kate into her dorm a couple weeks later. Lot to look forward to!
Today is Father's Day! I'm getting ready to leave my parents house to have lunch with my in-laws, but I got to spend the whole weekend with my dad. Someone asked me this weekend if my dad and I were close. My exact response was, "are you kidding me, I worship him". We then had a conversation about how he never really did spoil me per say... but we are definitely very close. We are just about the same person personality wise. We have the same exact sense of humor so we tend to laugh together.. A LOT. And sometimes we just get things that no one else does. I could go on and on, but I'll save that for another time. Gotta run and grab some Italian food.
Yum!

Hi, I'm your daughter. Nice to meet you.
Last night was the big party... it went really really well I think. Lots of people showed up, we had plenty of food for everyone, and the secret of it being partly for my dad stayed a secret for the most part. He said he had a few clues, but I think he was genuinely surprised when people from his work started showing up.. which was nice!
At one point my dad and I are in the kitchen talking at me when I notice he is looking at me rather strangely.
Dad: You're eyes are blue.
Me: *staring blankly* Yup, my whole life.
Dad: huh...
Hello, I've been your daughter for the past *almost* 26 years. Nice to see that you've finally noticed my eye color.
Anyways... as per usual.. my mother completely outdid herself. with the balloons and amazing cake and like I said above.. wayyy to much food. I still don't have a new camera so I
have no cool pictures to show other than the pic of the cake I took from my phone.
Here it is:
Don't you love it!! Publix!
So today is our last full day together. We just had a little breakfast of eggs and toast and coffee. He's watching some silly movie, then we have just a few more things to get down. Our friends Tim and Wendy couldn't make it to the party last night. Why you ask?? Because she is pregnant and could pop any time now so says her doctor! My mum's house is like 45 minutes away from the hospital she will be going to so they didn't think that would be such a good idea. So we're going over there for a bit, still have to find him a few more things to take with him, and tonight we're going out to dinner with his family. Our choice. We're horrible at choosing. We'll see where we end up!
One more random thought. My friend Charlotte started up a blog, The Happy Hamilton's, not too long ago. Yall should go over and check it out. She is pregnant as well and found out recently she is having a girl! Baby Georgia will be making her appearance in June!

~first post of '09~
Ugghhhh.. why oh why do I subject myself to this?? I thought I had learned *finally* my lessson about drinking too much. I haven't felt like this in a long long time, because I *thought* I have learned how to control myself. Oh well..I blame it on the atmosphere. I was a good girl though and stopped drinking 3 hours before we decided to go home. We planned on staying the night there, but I just really really wanted my own bed! And I really really didn't need to continue drinking anyways. But anywho.. we had a good time. I got to smooch my hubby at midnight for the 7th year in a row :) And we've been celebrating with some of the same people for that long as well!
One of my friends from high school and her husband hung out with us. At some point we decided it would be fun to call my parents and tell them we were planning on signing kareokee sometime soon and then spend the night at their house (this will happen when the third girl we were besties with comes back to visit from NC). I asked my dad if he wanted to come and sing kareokee with us.. here's how that convo went.
Me: Daaadd, you wanna come and shing kkareokee with ush?
Dad: I'll come and watch, but i'm not singing.
Me: But daadd, if you could shing any song you wanted, what would it be?
And he breaks out in full tune, right off the top of his head. Like it took him absolutely no time to think about this... "These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna walk right over you."
Reealllyy Dad?? Do you practice this in the mirror when you're getting ready for work??? He's too funny. I think my mum said in the background that she'd sing Sweet Caroline, but I'm not sure!
What's everyone's token kareokee song?? Mine you ask?

- Strawberry Wine
- Hotel California
- Don't Stop Believing
- Bohemion Rhapsody
I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of any. It's been too long!! I wonder if anyone even shares my deep love for kareokee?
Anyway.. I plan on doing absolutely NOTHING today. I've had to nights in a row of 5 hours of sleep, so i'll probably be doing some catching up on that!!
