I got an email yesterday and I don't quite know how to feel about it. Here's where you girls come in - Help!
It's the second time I've gotten an email like this.. the first one I didn't pay any attention to. Now I want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. The email popped up in my junk mail from Sarah. I usually go ahead and delete these immediately, but the subject of this one said something about reading my blog. I maybe still shouldn't have opened it (I'm more than a little worried about catching viruses... I'd die without this laptop of mine), but I did and it said something about her wanting me to post about the boots her company sells. Something about me posting a link for them and if it gets so many clicks, she'll give me a certain amount of money. The company is in the UK. Sounds easy right? I can't help but be extremely weary.
So tell me ~ is this a normal thing that happens to y'all or simply too good to be true??

I got this same thing from someone names Alicia. Was it Uggs? She said all I have to do is post the icon on my page and when they get so many visits, they pay you. Like advertising I guess. I don't know. It seemed too easy to me. I didn't do it. Let us know what you decide!
That definitely sounds like a scam, but I don't see how trying it could hurt you! If it worked that'd be awesome. =] Oh and hi, I'm a new follower. =]
I would say as long as they don't want too much personal information it couldn't hurt. If they ask for anything I wouldn't do it.
Do you personally know Sarah or was it just some random person? Even if you know Sarah it is possible she could be infected with some virus that sends out emails like this. In any case it is most likely a link to a malware infected site. If you display the link anyone that goes to the site could possibly be infected with viruses, worms, trojans, key loggers, and other nasty stuff. I can't say for sure without the link info, but it is mostly likely something you don't want displayed or have your patrons going too.
If your looking to make some money from the blog, blogger has it's own add-on called AdSense, which will give you money depending on how often your site is visited. This will however add advertising to your site and unless your getting a ton of hits, is probably not worth it.
There is a reason why those emails end up in the junk bind, typically they are junk.
I've heard of things like that, but usually its more like a company contacting you. I've heard of bloggers being asked to do promotions for GAP jeans or other products...they get things to give away to their readers in exchange for advertising. I would investigate more before posting something on my blog. Like others said, the link could be bad and you wouldn't want to infect your readers!
Never heard of it. I'd be careful.
Yeah that sounds weird, though I've never been asked to advertise anything, so I don't really know what "normal" is :)
I get that stuff alot. Once though it was Bake Me A Wish asking me to giveaway one of their cakes and for me to try one. They actually sent it to me and it was good.
I'm with timmy! Don't do it. You don't know this person and you'll prob give yourself and your readers viruses
Have I not taught you anything??? NO baby!
I always steer clear from anything out of the UK or Canada that comes to my inbox...I've done too much research on money making stuff from there and usually there all a scam...Chances are you could google that email (a sentance in it) and there will be ten links saying SCAM SCAM SCAM! Try it:) Hope I didn't bust a hopeful bubble:(
