I get so inspired by all of you runners out there. I admire all the dedication you put in to training for marathons. I celebrate each and every met goal with you. My heart bursts with happiness for you when you finally reach your target goal. I get completely sucked in to the whole process and think to myself how great I would feel if I did something like that. So I try. I get all amped up. I print out a training program. Set my little running clothes out. I go to the gym extremely motivated on Day 1. And that's about as far as it goes.
I've tried to enjoy running, but I JUST PLAIN HATE IT. So, I then find myself making up any reason what-so-ever to avoid the gym for the rest of the week. Not good. I let myself off the hook this weekend and realized I don't have to be a runner. It's better for my health
So keep up all that running ladies! I'm living vicariously through you, so keep up the hard work!

I tried twice this year to run and failed both times. It was too hot the first time and too cold the second. Maybe that was just an excuse...LOL. I do plan to try again.
Aww! Sorry you hate running! But, not everyone has to be a runner! :) You can be the elliptical queen, because personally I hate that thing!
Haha I feel like this is the same process I go through about running at least a couple times a year. I think I just don't like it either! That's totally okay though :)
Haha running isn't for everyone. Its definitely not for me. No need to do it if you don't like it.
I feel the same way! I'll get into running for about a week, and then I'm done!
I wish I could get into it, but I think it will be a lifelong struggle for me!
I am not a runner. I am okay with that. I like walking my Tessie better anyway (as does she!).
Starting in the new year, my friends and I are starting a motivational competition where people get points for working out, each mile they walk/run, etc. The person who has the least points has to make dinner for the others... I'm thinking about doing a Wiki so that we can keep track of each other. Just a thought :)
Running isn't for everyone and there are days when I absolutely hate it. Also -- I loathe running on a treadmill. If that's what I have to do because of bad weather, it takes twice the motivation to do it. If you're only attempting to run on a treadmill, maybe that might be part of the reason you don't like it?
And if not, then stick to what makes you happy! There's no harm in doing something you enjoy - especially because you're being active! :)
I feel ya---I tried running a few times before and this was the first time that I met my initial goal. Two reasons why I think it finally happened:
1. I trained with a friend!
2. I ran outside! Who knew that I hated treadmills!!!
Haha I am the exact same, I am always promising myself to run and never do it...oops! Thank god for this pregnancy for giving me an excuse not to ALTHOUGH I will need to get my butt in gear to get back in shape after : (!!
Huuugs you tried and that's all that matters. I'm jealous you went that far. : D You rock doll, seriously! : )
Girl, I started crackin' up the instant I saw your first sentenance on my Google reader. You and me are soul sisters. I have tried soooo many times to start running. I hate it! And when I see people running, I just want to honk my car horn at them and yell "I'm totally jealous of you!" And I feel like I'm the only blogger in the world not training for some sort of K.
But honestly, I don't see the point of running because it hurts and I can go so much longer and do more miles on the elliptical on a high resistance than I can on the treadmill on a low resistance. Can anyone explain that?
:) I'm not a runner either. At all. I was NEVER athletic at all. And yet P90X - the intense-ist of workouts - seems to be my perfect fit! Find what works for YOU, and you'll stick with it. And I LOVE the elliptical, too. I can pop my headphones in and go on that forever.
I'm the same exact way! I try so hard to be a runner but I hate it!
At least you tried! I agree I admire my girlfriends who run marathons, but honestly don't enjoy running enough to do one myself. I do enjoy spin class, body pump, the elliptical, and zumba. So I just try to excell at those! Just find what you like and do it. Hang in there girl. I hope your husband and you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
